The last Saturday in September
Yesterday was the 2005 AFL Grand Final, I was lucky enough to have tickets (for the 3rd year in a row!) courtesy of my Uncle Brad so my cousin Jane and I headed off to the MCG to see what turned out to be a very good, close game. Our seats were in the top tier of the Great Sourthern Stand but at the front so we had a good birds eye view of the entire game, the pre-match entertainment was in the news all week (due to Delta-gate! - 2 articles from The Age) but it all seemed to go off without a hitch; Delta Goodrem, Michael Buble, Silvie Paladino, Dame Edna Everage and a few choirs before the RAAF Roulettes flew over and the National Anthem was sung. The game was low scoring but hard fought and it was edge of the seat stuff in the final minutes, but the winner is...Sydney!!

I wasn't really barracking for a particular team but it was good to see Sydney win considering their origin as South Melbourne and the ties in Victoria.
Dad, Brad and I finished the day off with a couple of drinks at the Westin, all in all a good way to spend the last saturday in September!
