The art of shopping
After the excitement of the AFL Grand Final on Saturday I spent Sunday much more leisurely by going to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and seeing the Dutch Masters exhibition. I went because I was interested (obviously!) and I particularly wanted to see the fernery painting (as I had read Girl with a Pearl Earring) and also as I got a free ticket courtesy of Ruth's family so not one to waste an opportunity...The gallery was packed out! This is the last week of the exhibition so that may be why but I felt like I was lining up/waiting my turn to see some of the art works, due to this I actually rushed it a bit and only stopped and really looked at particular pieces that caught my eye.
Afterwards I went for a bit of stroll through Myer and using Sharna's staff discount card bought myself some new sunnies and a pair of pants! Then I wandered on through Melbourne Central to check out what stores are in there now, since Daimaru closed down its been a bit hodge-podgey in there but after a lot of construction it is great in there now! Specialty shops, big homewares stores and Hoyts cinema...I'll know where to do my Christmas shopping now.

ugh, I hate it when galleries are crowded like that. The Archibald exhibition in Sydney is always like that. I hate having to queue to see the paintings. You can't really appreciate them properly then. (I sound like a true art lover hey *G*).
