Introducing Mr & Mrs Sexton
Last Saturday Karissa and Paul got married at Sovereign Hill in Ballarat. It was a lovely to-do, quite un-traditional in a lot of ways but everyone looked good and had a heap of fun! The ceremony was held in the Victoria Theatre and the reception in the Bakery, it was a late wedding 5:45pm ceremony because you have to wait for the park to close before things can proceed. It was quite a nice setting and I liked the fact that there wasn't a heap of waiting around in between the two parts, just enough time for a couple of glasses of champers...always a necessity to start the evening off!Karissa looked lovely in a semi-fitted v neck gown with bodice beading, she was accompanied by Donna in a lovely dusty pink dress and her brother, Paul was attended by his two brothers, Luke and Joel. Very much a family affair (Donna is Paul's sister and Karissa is a friend of hers from high school - Paul and Karissa actually 'got together' at Donna & Brenton's wedding in 2002).
The evening was spent mostly on the dance floor, breaks taken only for more consumption of champagne or if there was a really bad song (which happened rarely, not a bad dj!). I took some pain killers (and the champagne helped) so that I could keep up with everyone, and my back/hip area held up pretty well, it was only once we stopped at about 12:30pm and were leaving the venue that I was starting to feel the affects of so much boogeying.
Congratulations Paul & Karissa Sexton!! Best wishes in your lives together.
